Around this time, in 2016, a group of writers decided to come together and revive the much loved 'The Sarah Jane Adventures' in fanfiction form. Two years later, the project is going strong, despite the occasional hiccup. We're halfway through Series Seven now, with Series Eight and beyond planned and ready to be written. To commemorate the special occasion, I am proud to announce two new spin off series: Martha Jones: Back to Earth
A series inspired by head writer Ryan Rigby, and returning after a botched first outing, Back to Earth details the fallout of the Series Three finale (Utopia/The Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords). Martha Jones takes centre stage, as do the rest of the Jones family, who all have their own role to play in what is very much an ensemble series. (Release Date: TBC) Torchwood: Renegades A series of four stories detailing my own interpretation of Torchwood’s activities post-Miracle Day, separate to Big Finish. Not because I don’t like their Torchwood range, but I just wanted to try out something new, and it fits with my overall story arc. The series is only in its outlining stages, but I can tell you that it’s about Torchwood squaring off against a band of rogues and it’s set in early 2013, two years after Miracle Day. (Release Date: TBC) More plot details such as synopses, writers, characters, cast lists etc. will follow as time goes by. All three series are in the outlining stages, but I’m pleased with the premise for each and excited to write them. There are other miscellaneous pieces of fiction to celebrate the NEU anniversary. The other day, we had Weather Warfare, a story originally intended for the Roving Reporter anthology series by the wonderfully prestigious Kate Coleman, a woman I’ve taken a shining to and someone you can expect to see pop up again one day in another fan project. Aside from that, there are the remaining SJA 7B episodes and a special loose three-part arc that encompasses SJA, Torchwood AND Back to Earth. The overarching arc title is Infection of the Heart, Body and Mind.
